Bubblegum Ice Cream

Ice Cream has always been a weakness and a favorite treat of mine..and pretty much every human who has ever lived. Often in the summer, you could find me enjoying a cone of ice cream, usually being bubblegum flavour. That was always my absolute favorite. My best friend and I decided to go out to a local ice cream place to enjoy a cold treat. She had gotten some death by chocolate thing while I stuck to my bubblegum. We noticed an empty table and sat down. She had gone to sit down as I waited in line for my cone and as I received my cone and began to head to our table, Then I tripped. The devastation was real guys. I went back to get another cone and here I was, it was round 2. Ice cream -1 me -0. I was being especially careful this time not to drop it but that all went down the drain when bang! The whole top half of the cone fell off. This just wasent my day. She giggled a little because in all reality, it was kind of funny. Later that weekend, I was out with my sister who had asked if...

Snow Day's Still A Work Day

Motivation is legit one of the hardest things to overcome sometimes. As I've started off the new year, I have made what you would call a "new years resolution ". I wasen't expecting it to be as much work as what it turned out to be. I had set myself a goal. A goal that was personalized to fit what kind of results I wanted to see. I've always loved my workout sessions and thriving on the court, with my second love-basketball. Today was a bit different. Since I live in Canada, we have snowstorms, it's not at all uncommon.  I had planned to go to the gym to practice my freethrows, positions, and handles. I had woken up feeling like a complete zombie. Lacking motivation to even get out of bed. Have you ever had those days? Today was that day for me. Knowing I had this goal set out for me and having nothing but the intention to follow through, I dragged myself out of bed. I threw on some sweats and headed to the gym. Still feeling a little dead, I proceeded to str...

A Not So Perfect Love Story

Hey Ya'll! Welcome to Day 2 of Diamonds , Pearls and Problems. So today I wanted to talk about the topic most of us address as being mushy, everlasting , and always perfect. Yeah, I'm talking about love, the kind when you meet someone and really like them kind of love. The I fall on my face every time I see you type of love. Whether you are dating someone currently or a single Pringle like myself,  everyone at some point has a "crush". This was the case for me about a year ago, maybe longer. We had talked and as I saw it , became close. It felt like all was right with the world, like sunshine and unicorns. Then I chose to step up and tell him how I felt. (Takes deep breath) I hadent really known him a lot, only from the conversations we would have over message, but still, I went for it. I poured out my whole entire being and basically every single cheesy line I could think of. I anticipated what he would say. In our messages, we would have the casual "Hey, how wa...

If Life's A Movie, Where's The Popcorn?

Have you ever heard someone say "life is like a movie, you just sit back and enjoy the show"? Well, I sure have. I remember a number of years ago I was at a local theatre only to walk in and see a line for the consession stand all the way to both doors. Ugh, who wants to wait in line that long? Not me! So I proceeded into the theatre to find my seat ..without any snacks. I'm all for going to see movies in the theatres but who goes in without a snack?! Apparently I did. As I sat down all I could think about was munching on some popcorn and drinking a cold pop. I was irritated but it beat standing in line for forever. Soon enough, the lights began to fade and people started to quiet , the movie was starting. I don't think even a happy meal from McDonalds could have lightened my mood. So after about 2 hours of sitting watching a movie-without a snack, it was over. I was hungry, annoyed and just so done with the consession stand workers (even though they did nothing), sou...

Introducing Me!

Hey Everyone! Welcome to My Blog. My name is Abby, and I'm 17 years old. I have always thought the idea of having a blog would be so neat. From the bloggers who over ecstatically give bits and pieces to the well, hacks of life to the ones who use it as an outlet to realease their most transparent thoughts. Hate to break the ice this way, but I'm neither. I think that digging deep into how we genuinely feel and acknowledging that No, we're not perfect and Yes, we will be thrown curveballs in life is completely ok. As I thought of what to name my blog, I had some rather strange ideas, such as : popcorntobutter , like what does that even mean?! It finally came to me. I chose to name it Diamonds Pearls And Problems because let's face it, life is certainly not glitter and diamonds all the time. This blog is aimed mainly towards the attention of women,  but can be for anyone. We all have those questions in life, the ones we never seem to get answers to. Ya know , the ones th...
