Bubblegum Ice Cream

Ice Cream has always been a weakness and a favorite treat of mine..and pretty much every human who has ever lived. Often in the summer, you could find me enjoying a cone of ice cream, usually being bubblegum flavour. That was always my absolute favorite. My best friend and I decided to go out to a local ice cream place to enjoy a cold treat. She had gotten some death by chocolate thing while I stuck to my bubblegum. We noticed an empty table and sat down. She had gone to sit down as I waited in line for my cone and as I received my cone and began to head to our table, Then I tripped. The devastation was real guys. I went back to get another cone and here I was, it was round 2. Ice cream -1 me -0. I was being especially careful this time not to drop it but that all went down the drain when bang! The whole top half of the cone fell off. This just wasent my day. She giggled a little because in all reality, it was kind of funny. Later that weekend, I was out with my sister who had asked if I wanted a cone of ice cream. I hesitated saying yes, going off of previous experience at that shop, with the ice cream but I said yes. We pulled up to the spot once again, and got out of the car to a relatively short line. She ordered a Oreo ice cream cone and I once again, ordered the faithful bubblegum. She suggested we sit down at a table to eat it, so we sat. I took the first lick and it was perfect. No tripping, or rolling ice cream this time. I felt such a relief , I could finally enjoy my bubblegum ice cream! As random as this story is , it has a point. The second time I had the ice cream (the time I actually was able to eat it) it felt so much sweeter. It seemed like it was worth the mishaps previous to the week before. I finally got my bubblegum ice cream. I miss those sweet summer days! They'll be back soon enough, when I can once again enjoy my cone of bubblegum ice cream.

If Life's A Movie, Where's The Popcorn?

Have you ever heard someone say "life is like a movie, you just sit back and enjoy the show"? Well, I sure have. I remember a number of years ago I was at a local theatre only to walk in and see a line for the consession stand all the way to both doors. Ugh, who wants to wait in line that long? Not me! So I proceeded into the theatre to find my seat ..without any snacks. I'm all for going to see movies in the theatres but who goes in without a snack?! Apparently I did. As I sat down all I could think about was munching on some popcorn and drinking a cold pop. I was irritated but it beat standing in line for forever. Soon enough, the lights began to fade and people started to quiet , the movie was starting. I don't think even a happy meal from McDonalds could have lightened my mood. So after about 2 hours of sitting watching a movie-without a snack, it was over. I was hungry, annoyed and just so done with the consession stand workers (even though they did nothing), sou...

Introducing Me!

Hey Everyone! Welcome to My Blog. My name is Abby, and I'm 17 years old. I have always thought the idea of having a blog would be so neat. From the bloggers who over ecstatically give bits and pieces to the well, hacks of life to the ones who use it as an outlet to realease their most transparent thoughts. Hate to break the ice this way, but I'm neither. I think that digging deep into how we genuinely feel and acknowledging that No, we're not perfect and Yes, we will be thrown curveballs in life is completely ok. As I thought of what to name my blog, I had some rather strange ideas, such as : popcorntobutter , like what does that even mean?! It finally came to me. I chose to name it Diamonds Pearls And Problems because let's face it, life is certainly not glitter and diamonds all the time. This blog is aimed mainly towards the attention of women,  but can be for anyone. We all have those questions in life, the ones we never seem to get answers to. Ya know , the ones th...

Hey, I'm Back

Hey ya'll. I firstly want to apologize for this INSANELY late post, life has been...SUPER busy, and SUPER dramatic to say the least. A lot has happened since the last time I was on here. So, where to start? weeelll, my life has been nothing short of complicated. I started this incredible new life here at KU, and am loving it here, though homework load is slowly crushing my every inch of sanity. Oh, yeah I broke up with my ( ex) boyfriend of two and a half years, guess that's recent. Why did I do this, you ask? I had known for a long time that we were not meant to be together, maybe for a short time, but I knew we were not supposed to be together forever. Yeah, that was hard. I had a lot of support through it, though. My parents offered a lot of support, my best friend, and some friends from school. One in particular really was/is a huge help and support, not sure how I would have gotten through this without him, not to sound overdramatic or anything, but really that's the t...
